This is a two-day workshop 9-15 and 9-16. This workshop will introduce the students to the copper foil method of stained glass production. The class will cover all techniques in working with stained glass leading to completion of their own stained glass sun catcher. Students will be required to submit a liability waiver to participate in the class.

Participants will select flowers from the garden or field to press using a microwaveable flower press. An overview of the several uses and processes for flower pressing will be discussed and practiced. Participants will complete and take home note cards to which the pressed flowers are applied.

No prior experience is necessary. Come and enjoy Fall in the Adirondacks. Bring a packed lunch and beverage. We will be out doors; dress appropriately. Rain will cancel the class.

Half-Bushel Basket. Participants will take home a handsome half-bushel basket made with reed and sea grass with pottery handles. No prior basket making skills required.

Class size: Min. 5, Max. 10. Materials and Supplies: Participants are asked to bring and old towel, a ruler, pencil, clothes pins and a large bucket. All other materials are provided. Lunch: Participants may bring theirl lunch or eat at one of the several restaurants nearby.

Traditional paddles are usually longer and narrower in the blade shape. This decreases the amount of squaring that the canoeist must put into an efficient stroke. This reduces needless effort and soreness for the canoeist. Cruising speed is not affected because the surface area of the blade, although narrower, is longer. These blades are easier to steer and the exit and entry are both smoother than with a wider blade.
We will start with a cherry blank and use only hand tools. You will go home with a completed paddle that only needs the final sanding and coating.
